The artist's figurative sculptures focus on the theme of migration throughout her artistic career. Her journey of creating her signature personages have begun years ago after seeing a documentary of sub-saharan refugees in their endless, ardous walk through the land.
Her work is even more pertinent now in the light of ongoing refugee crises taking place all over the world.

The artist creates abstract and architectural shapes which integrate clay fragments through a slow, determined and yet humble process. Her pieces evoke in a metaphorical way the alchemical processes of the psyche, the transmutation of each individual who, despite bearing the burden of ordeals which have been solidified by the fire of life, becomes a new unique being.
In 2021, Evrim Ozkan Yazici was awarded the Young Ceramicist Bursary by the Bruckner Foundation.
This exhibition is part of Ceramics Biennale, Parcours Céramiques Carougeois 2022, 17-25 September 2022.
